Feature Recipe July 2009 Pennsylvania Cookies Bob Williamson This is a heritage recipe taken from my mother’s recipe book. Erma Ulmer Williamson was an excellent cook. Her mother Sophia Heim Ulmer came from Pennsylvania as an 8 year old girl in the Jacob G. Heim family in 1874. This recipe for cookies came from Pennsylvania with them. It is simple and basic but they used what they had and it fed hard working and hungry families. |
1 ¾ cup light brown sugar ¾ cup butter 1 cup sour cream 2 eggs 1 teaspoon soda flour to roll Cut into cookie size slices and bake at 350 for 10 to 12 minutes or until light brown Makes about 84 cookies |
