Chocolate Chip Cookies

1 cup shortening
¾ cup brown sugar
¾ cup white sugar
2 beaten eggs
1 teaspoon water
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 ½ cup flour
1 teaspoon soda
1 teaspoon salt
2 cups oatmeal
1 package of chocolate chips
nuts if desired

Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs, water, vanilla. Sift dry ingredients and add oatmeal and chocolate chips. Bake 10 to 12 minutes at 375 degrees. Do not over bake.
